How We Operate

Curriculum

RiverStone Daycare utilizes The Creative Curriculum, a state of the art, research based curriculum for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. In conjunction with our curriculum program, we implement the philosophy that education is an active process that involves the building of skills and knowledge for success in all stages of life. RiverStone does not just prepare children for kindergarten; we engage them in a lifelong journey and love of learning and discovery.

Staff

Every day you entrust us with your most precious packages in life, your children. Our staff realizes this trust and respect and work to ensure that your child receives the best care and education possible. All of our head teachers have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and every staff member has significant hands on experience working with children.

Our staff also maintains and expands their knowledge through monthly training sessions on health and safety, curriculum development, nutrition, and other topics that seek to keep our center on top of the latest educational research and development.

All members of our staff are here to serve you and your family, so please feel free to speak with any of us about any questions or comments that you have.

Parent Communication

Working with your family to provide the most consistent and stable environment for your child is one of our top priorities. To do so, we believe in open communication at all levels, from our management to head teachers and support staff. RiverStone will use daily activity reports, monthly newsletters, bi-annual child evaluations, and frequent notes and memos to update you about your child’s experience at our center. We also encourage you to feel free to mention any information that will be helpful in caring for your child to their head teacher and remind you to frequently check your contact information for any needed updates. RiverStone can also be easily reached by email (info@riverstonedaycare.com), phone (518-623-2400), fax (518-623-2441), or stop by the center any time (87 River Street, Warrensburg).

Safety and Security

Providing a safe atmosphere for your child to learn and grow is an essential part of childcare and RiverStone works in a variety of ways to ensure our environment is healthy and secure. Our classrooms perform daily checks on the cleanliness, the director evaluates the center weekly using a New York State Health and Safety form, and regular inspections are done to ensure our facility is well maintained.

We also utilize a program specifically for daycares to ensure that access to our building is secure. This program allows you to enter a code specific to your family to sign in your children and enter the building. The program also manages your emergency contact list, who are the only people beside the parent/legal guardian that may sign out your children. We ask that anyone who comes to sign out your child, who has not been seen by our daycare previously, brings a photo id for additional verification.

If you have any questions or concerns about the safety of our building, please feel free to discuss them with our director at any time, and we will work in a timely and efficient manner to remedy it.
